Safeguarding

The wellbeing of all of our students is of paramount importance. Parents send their children to school each day with the expectation that we provide a secure environment in which their children can flourish. It is our responsibility to ensure that all students in our care feel safe and protected.

We have a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) in school trained to respond to safeguarding concerns raised by staff, students or parents. All staff are also trained to be aware of signs that students may be at risk and to follow this up appropriately. In addition to our responsibility for the health and safety of those on site, the school is proactive in educating students about safeguarding risks in the community and works closely with other agencies including Social Services, CAMHS and the police.

The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all safeguarding concerns with parents about their children. There may be exceptional circumstances, however, when the school will discuss concerns with Social Services and/or the police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures). The school's Safeguarding and Child Protection policies are available to view and download in the School Policies section of this website.

If you have any concerns about safeguarding at school or in the school community outside, please email us at:
